About Code for San Jose
Code for San Jose (CFSJ) is an all-volunteer-driven chapter (aka "brigade") of Code for America. Our mission is to create transparent, accessible, and equitable community services through technology and human-centered design. We create transformative outcomes for the San Jose and the general Silicon Valley area.
The hundreds of volunteers powering CFSJ come from diverse backgrounds, geographical locations, and professional fields. In exchange for their time and passion, our volunteers gain valuable work and life experience to prepare them for future careers and personal journeys.
CFSJ partners with fellow nonprofits, academic groups and local government by providing organized, pro-bono, highly-skilled technical and design talent that amplifies social good initiatives. In that light, CFSJ serves as a unique environment where workforce development and community service converge.
